Hi! I'm Cindy. I've spent my life trying to find cosmetic products that treat my stubborn skin problems without creating new ones. When my daughter developed a condition that led to severely dry, red, blistering skin, and none of the over-the-counter or prescription treatments were cutting it, I went on a quest to learn as much as I could about the power of botanical ingredients to soothe uncomfortable skin.
All of the products I create for Forest Song Botanicals are ones I use on myself and my family. Because I have so many skin and scent allergies myself, I'm especially interested in formulating allergen-friendly products. Got a tricky allergy? After a lifetime of ultra-reactive, dehydrated skin, I'm just as picky about what I put on my body as I am about what I put in it. All the ingredients I use in my skincare products are the same ones I use for myself, my family, and my friends. All are specially chosen to be as gentle, natural, safe, and effective as possible.
My salves and soaps are self-preserving, which means that they don't have any added preservatives; the lack of water in these products keeps microbial growth from occurring.
Because lotions contain water, they're unsafe to use if they don't include added preservatives. The preservative system I put in my products is one commonly used for sensitive skin.
Of course, no two bodies are the same, and everyone reacts differently. I strongly recommend patch-testing any cosmetic products on a small area of the forearm before applying it more widely.
